recommended battery capacity is 1.5 Ah to 120 Ah. It is not suitable for charging
non-rechargeable batteries (e.g. zinc-carbon, alkaline etc.) or other types of
rechargeable battery (e.g. NiMh) not indicated above. The charger must only be
operated with normal domestic AC voltages of 220 – 240 V/AC (50/60 Hz).
For reasons of both safety and offi cial approval (CE), you must not convert and/or
modify the charger.
Do not use the ProCharger 10.000 charger for any battery technology that is not
specifi ed above, and always follow these Instructions for Use. Any other use is
considered improper use and may result in material damage. The manufacturer or
supplier accepts no liability for damage caused by improper or incorrect use.

5.2 | Warnings

Please read these Instructions for Use through carefully, as they contain important
information on how to operate and use this charger. The Instructions for Use are
an integral part of the device and must therefore be kept safe. The charger must
only be passed on to a third party together with the Instructions for Use.
In order to avoid malfunctions, damage or health hazards, please adhere to the
following safety instructions. If the safety instructions and the information on
proper use in these Instructions for Use are deliberately or negligibly ignored,
there is a risk of hazards, e.g. short-circuit, fi re, explosion or electric shock. The
manufacturer Detlev Louis Motorrad-Vertriebsgesellschaft mbH (Switzerland:
Detlev Louis AG) assumes no liability for any resultant personal injury or damage.
The warranty/guarantee will also be rendered null and void. If you are not certain
about the right way to connect or operate the device, or if any other questions
arise that are not covered in these Instructions for Use, please contact our
Technical Customer Service department (p. 51) or a qualifi ed technician.

5.3 | Safety instructions

WARNING!
Risk of electric shock!
•This charger is constructed to protection class 2 and must
only be operated with a properly installed, normal domestic
AC voltage supply of 220 – 240 V/AC (50/60 Hz). The power
socket must be in close proximity to the charger and easily
accessible.
•This charger must not be converted or modifi ed (for reasons of
both safety and offi cial approval, amongst others) and it is not
intended for commercial use.
•This charger must not be touched with damp or wet hands.
•This charger is only approved for indoor operation in dry,
closed rooms.

•Always check all the cables and connections for damage
before use. If the charger is damaged, it must not be used.
•Ensure that all the power consumers on the vehicle, e.g.
ignition, lights, sat nav, heated grips etc., are switched off.
•This charger must always be disconnected from the power
supply (power socket) after use. Always do this by pulling on
the plug, never the cable!
•The charger must not be used if it or its connecting cables
show any signs of damage. Do not touch the charger if it is
still connected to the power socket (risk of fatal injury). First
shut off the mains voltage supply (all-pole disconnection)
to the power socket in use (switch off/unscrew the circuit
breaker, then switch off the residual current device). Only then
disconnect the charger from the power socket.

Risk of explosion and fire!
•When charging batteries, it is imperative that you adhere to
the charging guidelines and safety instructions provided by the
battery and vehicle manufacturers.
•The charger must always be disconnected from the power
supply (power socket) before connecting/disconnecting the
charger to/from the battery.
•This charger and the battery have to be positioned so that
the air can circulate. Keep a minimum air gap of 5 cm around
the charger. The charger and the battery must not be covered
and/or placed on a fl ammable surface. During operation,
all objects (especially fl ammable material) which may be
damaged by high temperatures or catch fi re must be kept
clear. The charger and the battery being charged must stand
fi rmly so that they cannot topple over or fall.
•Do not charge the battery while the engine is running. Be
aware that certain engine components (e.g. the cooling fan)
may start up automatically.
•Ensure that all the power consumers on the vehicle, e.g.
ignition, lights, sat nav, heated grips etc., are switched off.
