components, the battery will need to be removed. Follow the
manufacturer's instructions on removal of the battery.
•Make sure that the charger is not connected to the power
socket at this stage.
•It is imperative to adhere to the following connection
sequence:
9.1 | Connecting up the charger
- Version A - Charging the battery in the vehicle using the charging clamp cable:
Connect the charging clamp cable to the charger using the quick connector (if you
have not already done so). Then, fi rst connect the red charging clamp (positive)
to the positive terminal on the battery. After doing so, connect the black clamp
(negative) to the vehicle chassis or the engine block, but not in the vicinity of the
battery, the fuel supply line or the carburettor, and not to metal clips or moving
parts.
The black clamp terminal (negative) of the charger is connected to the
vehicle chassis or the engine block in accordance with the EN standard,
i.e. a distance away from the battery. This reliably prevents explosive
gases, which could in theory be in the direct vicinity of the battery, from
igniting due to sparks at the battery terminal.
- Version B - Charging the battery with the charging clamp cable after removing the
battery from the vehicle:
Connect the charging clamp cable to the charger using the quick connector (if you
have not already done so). Then, fi rst connect the red charging clamp (positive) to
the positive terminal on the battery. Then, connect the black clamp (negative) to
the negative terminal on the battery.
- Version C - Charging with the ring terminal cable:
First disconnect the motorcycle earth connection from the battery.
Then, screw the red ring terminal (positive) of the ring terminal cable onto the
battery's positive terminal. Next, screw the black ring terminal (negative) of the
ring terminal cable together with the motorcycle's earth connection onto the
battery's negative terminal again. Finally, connect the ring terminal cable to the
charger using the quick connector.
- Version D - Charging using the vehicle socket and the optional ProCharger
charger plug:
Connect the charger plug cable to the charger using the quick connector (if you have
not already done so). Insert the charger plug into the socket on your motorcycle.
•Now connect the battery charger to the power.supply. The

•Now select the battery voltage, charging current and appropriate charging mode
using the relevant buttons (MODE, 6 V/12 V, TYPE).
Charging will only begin if you have selected a suitable battery type with the
"TYPE" button.

9.2 | Disconnecting the charger

•After the charging process, fi rst disconnect the charger from the power supply.
•It is imperative to adhere to the following disconnection sequence:
- Version A - Charging the battery in the vehicle using the charging clamp cable:
First disconnect the black charging clamp (negative) from the vehicle chassis or
the engine block. Then, disconnect the red charging clamp (positive) from the
positive terminal on the battery.
- Version B - Charging the battery with the charging clamp cable after removing the
battery from the vehicle:
First disconnect the black charging clamp (negative) from the negative terminal on
the battery. Then, disconnect the red charging clamp (positive) from the positive
terminal on the battery.
- Version C - Charging with the ring terminal cable:
Disconnect the charger from the ring terminal cable using the quick connector
and close the ring terminal cable socket with the enclosed cap. If you do not want
to leave the ring terminal cable permanently connected to the battery, but prefer
to disconnect it after charging the battery, disconnect the black ring terminal
(negative) from the negative terminal on the battery and then the red ring terminal
(positive) from the positive terminal on the battery.
- Version D - Charging using the vehicle socket and the optional ProCharger
charger plug:
Disconnect the charger plug from the vehicle socket on your motorcycle.

9.3 | Interrupting the charging process

The charging process can be interrupted or ended at any time. Always start by
unplugging the charger from the power supply, and then disconnect the charger
from the battery.

9.4 | Charging time

Please note that the charging processes may take different lengths of time. For
a large battery with a capacity of more than 100 Ah, for example, charging can
easily take longer than two days, depending on the condition of the battery (old or

new; fl at or deeply discharged etc.).
LED lights up (steady light).
