6. Intended use

This charger is designed exclusively for charging lead-acid, lead-gel, lead-
fleece (AGM) and calcium vehicle batteries with a nominal voltage of 12 V. The
recommended battery capacity is 1.2 Ah to 20 Ah. It is not suitable for charging non-
rechargeable batteries (e.g. zinc-carbon, alkali etc.) or other types of battery (e.g.
NiMh, Li-Ion) not indicated above. The charger must only be operated with common
domestic AC voltages of 220 - 240 V/AC (50/60 Hz). For reasons of both safety and
official approval (CE), you must not convert and/or modify the product.

7. Warnings and safety instructions

Please read these operating instructions through carefully, as they contain important
information on how to operate and use this charger. The operating instructions are an
integral part of the device and must therefore be kept safe. The charger must only be
passed on to third parties together with the operating instructions.
In order to avoid malfunctions, damage or health hazards, please adhere to the
following safety Instructions. If the safety Instructions and the information on proper
use in these operating instructions are deliberately or negligibly ignored, there is a
risk of hazards, e.g. short circuit, fire, explosion or electric shock. In such cases. The
manufacturer Detlev Louis Motorrad-Vertriebsgesellschaft mbH (Switzerland: Detlev
Louis AG) assumes no liability for any resultant personal injury/material damage; the
warranty will also be rendered null and void.
If you are not certain about the right way to connect or operate the device, or if any
other questions arise that are not covered in the operating instructions, please contact
our technical customer service department (page 36) or another specialist.
Safety instructions – Use
• When charging batteries, it is imperative that you adhere to the charging
guidelines and safety instructions of the respective battery and vehicle
manufacturer.
• This charger is constructed to protection class 2 and must only be operated with
a properly installed, common domestic AC voltage supply of 220 - 240 V/AC
(50/60 Hz). The mains socket must be easily accessible.
• This charger must not be converted or modified (amongst other reasons, for rea-
sons of both safety and official approval) and it is not intended for commercial use.
