Installing the column (CH-A, CM-A, CM-Aux, and CH-30A)
Waters ships the CH-30A with a tubing kit that includes several column
Note:
inlet and exit tube options. ACQUITY instrument stack configurations can
vary, so you must configure the shortest possible column exit tube to the
detector. Whenever possible, use reusable fittings, like the one-piece plastic
ones included in the start-up kit. When you use a guard column and a 300-mm
column on the same system, you must minimize path length. To do so, use the
metal fitting sets with the short, gold-coated compression screws, such as
those found on the 60-cm tube. You can also use short fittings with the active
preheater-to-column tube. Otherwise, use the active preheater-to-column tube
with reusable fittings. The kit also includes a 120-cm length of PEEK plastic
tubing, for custom configurations.

Gloves: clean, powder-free, chemical-resistant
High-temperature outlet fitting
High-temperature outlet fitting wrench
Reusable fitting
Required tool
5/16-inch open-end wrench

Caution:
• turn the column, not the fitting, when installing or removing the
column to prevent the active preheater tubing from turning with the
fitting.
• do not grasp and turn the assembly.
• do not suspend or hang the active preheater tubing.
To connect the column in-line filter unit and the column inlet:
1.
Remove the O-ring from the outlet end of the column in-line filter unit.
2.
Remove the plug from the column inlet.
