4. Install the new active preheater assembly in the retainer.
If you are replacing the active preheater in a 30-cm column heater:
• Install the active preheater in the correct position for your
application.
– UPLC column – install the active preheater in the upper
retainer
– HPLC column – install the active preheater in the lower
retainer
• Install the retainer cover in the unused active preheater position.
5. Carefully route the active preheater assembly inlet tubing to the valve:
• Column heater – route the tubing through the groove on the side of
the column compartment, and then through the cutout in the top of
the sample manager door to the injector. Do not route the tubing
behind the sample manager door hinge.
• 30-cm column heater – route the tubing through the column heater
door.
