Installing the S8700 IP Connect
Verify Date and Time
The following administration uses the services laptop computer connected to server 1 and uses
the media server web interface.
Click Set Server Time/Timezone to view the current time, date, and time zone settings.

If the time is within 3 minutes of the correct time, do nothing.
If it is not, then set the current hour and minute and click Submit.

Unplug the laptop from server 1.
Connect Duplication Cables
Connect the crossover CAT5 cable and fiber optic cable between the 2 servers. Refer to

connectivity guide.
Configure Server 2
The following administration uses the services laptop computer connected to server 2 and uses
the media server web interface.

Plug server 2 into UPS 2 to power it up. Refer to
Media Server for IP Connect

Plug the laptop into port 2 (Eth1) on the back of server 2 using the black crossover cable.
On the services laptop, click Start > Run to open the Run dialog box.

Type arp -d 192.11.13.6 and press

Launch the web browser.
Type 192.11.13.6 in the Location (Netscape) or Address (Internet Explorer) field to bring

up the Web interface.
Log in as craft.

When asked "Do you want to suppress alarms?", select "yes."

Under Server, click Set Server Time/Timezone.

Verify or set the correct time on server 2.

Scroll down the menu to Server Configuration and Upgrades.
