Slide-out Awning

5 • 2 0 0
The slide-out awning will automatically roll out as the slide-out room
extends. After the slide-out room is extended, the awning can be completely
rolled out as a window awning.
The slide-out awning has two devices to help prevent the awning from "bil-
lowing" while traveling. The first device is a pair of anti-billow studs, which
are located above each end of the awning roller tube. If the awning catches
wind and begins to billow, the metal wrap of the awning will contact the anti-
billow stud. Levering downward, the stud engages with a plastic gear prevent-
ing further unraveling of the awning material.
The second device uses two metal wind deflectors which are positioned just
below the awning. This helps prevent side winds from unwinding the awning.
CAUTION: The slide room and slide-out awning should be retracted
during heavy wind, rain or snow as damage can occur to the awning
or motorhome. Wind can drive rain under the slide-out awning and
into the motorhome.
NOTE: At least five feet of clearance is needed between the side of
the motorhome and any objects, such as trees or fences, to allow the
slide room and slid-out awning to be fully extended.

To Extend the Window Awning:
1. Follow the instructions for extending the slide
room.
2. Using the awning pull rod, unlock the travel
latches located on the awning side arms.
3. Located between the two metal wind deflectors is
the awning pull strap. Use the awning pull rod to
hook the loop in the pull strap.
4. With a firm grip on the rod, pull down on the
strap to extend the awning over the window.
5. Secure the side straps on each end of the awning
to the hooks provided on the motorhome.
