Using the Cooktop:
1. Place the cookware on the burner grate over the desired surface burner.
2. Open the burner valve by applying a downward pressure on the knob and
rotating counterclockwise from the OFF position.
3. Press the knob down to activate the igniters. All igniters will click at the
same time.
4. When the burner lights, release the knob. Rotate knob to the desired
flame setting. In the event of a power outage or igniter failure, the cook-
top can be lit manually.
Surface Burners:
The surface burners have an independent heat rating. The rating for the
burners used are 6,000 BTU's and 12,500 BTU's. The smaller rated burner can
be used for simmering or smaller quantities of food in small cookware. The
large burner should be used with larger cooking utensils. The flames at the sur-
face burners should have an even appearance at the burner base. Uneven
flames may indicate the need to clean the burners.
The cooktop utilizes burners that spread heat even-
ly across the bottom of the cookware. The cooktop
uses an electric ignition system which requires 12 Volt
DC to operate. The cooktop should be used for cook-
ing purposes only, not as a heating source. When the
burner valve is opened the fuel source flows through
the valve into the mixture tube. The fuel passes by a
hole or venturi in the mixture tube, which draws air in
with the fuel for a proper fuel/air ratio. The flame
should have a blue appearance with a lighter blue
defined flame at the burner head. A yellow flame or
yellow flame tips indicate a rich fuel mixture, which
can leave a black color or carbon on the bottom of the
cookware.
The cooktop operates under the following conditions:
1. The LP-Gas primary valve on the LP tank is open.
2. The LP-Gas valve under the cooktop (located next
to the regulator) must be open.
3. The control knobs are opened.
