Table 27: Accounting Record Name Details

Record Name
Service-ingress-octets (sio) (**)
Service-ingress-packets (sip) (*) (**)
Network-ingress-octets (nio)
Network-ingress-packets (nip)
In the 7210 SAS E model, the meters can operate in either octet or packet mode. For example,
either the octets or number of packets of the incoming traffic can be calculated. This mode is
controlled by the accounting policy enabled on the network port or SAP. The default mode in
which the counters operate is the packet mode, (the incoming traffic is counted by the number of
ingress packets). If an accounting policy is enabled (by an explicit accounting policy configuration
or a default accounting policy) on the access uplink port or SAP, and the accounting policy record
is configured as network-ingress-octets or service-ingress-octets respectively, then the incoming
traffic is calculated in octets.
Note: When the meters are operating in the octet mode, the debug and show commands for the
meters will display the statistics in octets.
