Auto Maintenance
Function
To get the best out of this machine, you can set various
maintenance operations to be performed automatically.
This section explains how to set the times at which the
automatic maintenance operations are performed.
You can prevent problems such as ink clogging by
performing automatic maintenance periodically.

(Auto maintenance function)

For the auto maintenance functions, the following items
can be set:
• When you perform maintenance manually, after
manual maintenance is complete and when the
time set for the automatic maintenance function
has passed, maintenance starts automatically.
Function name
Sets the interval between each refreshing
REFRESH
operation.
CLEANING
Sets the interval between each cleaning
INTERVAL
operation.
TYPE
Sets the cleaning type.
• If the "Replace Waste Ink Tank" warning message
is displayed, the operation set in the auto mainte-
nance function is not carried out. Perform the
operations in P.4-26 if required.
• When the power switch on the front of the machine
is turned off, check the waste ink tank.

Setting the Refreshing Intervals

Sets the interval between each operation to eject a small
amount of ink from the nozzles to prevent nozzle clogging.
