Configuring Ethernet settings

This menu should only be accessed by administrators. In Configuration > Communications >
Ethernet Settings, configure the following:
DHCP—Users may enable Dynamic IP (DHCP) support if the network is equipped with a DHCP
server. Once enabled, the projector configures the IP address, subnet mask, and default
gateway with the settings provided by the DHCP server. When disabled, the projector resets the
address back to the default static address (0.0.0.0). If the projector cannot contact a DHCP
server, the projector software reverts to using the Link-Local IP settings.
Link-Local IP—When set to Dynamic IP, the projector configures itself to a valid IP address,
even if no DHCP server is available to provide a dynamic IP. If the PC is configured to obtain an
IP address automatically (by default in Windows), both the PC and the projector uses
compatible IP addresses.
IP Address—If DHCP is disabled, enter a valid and unique IP address for use on the network
to which the projector is currently connected. This address overwrites any previous IP address
such as the projector's factory-defined default. It takes approximately 10 seconds for the
projector to respond at its new address.
TCP Port—On some Ethernet networks, firewall restrictions may require that the port number
of the projector be changed from its default of 3002. If so, enter a new valid port number here.
Christie highly recommends not using a port number below 1000, as these ports are typically
reserved for and used by common IP applications.
Subnet Mask—Determines the subnet for the IP address and must be set manually, if not
using DHCP.
Default Gateway—The IP address of the gateway used to reach any non-local IP addresses.
All PCs and projectors must be on the same subnet and it must be set manually, if not using
DHCP.
Host Name—Set the host name for the device.
Domain Name—Set the domain for the device.
Mac Address—Displays the MAC address of the projector (read-only).

Serial port connections

RS232 and RS422 serial ports are both available on the projector: You can connect a device with a
serial interface, such as a computer to either of these connectors (not both) and control the
projector remotely by entering specific serial communication commands. See
multiple screens
on page 69 and the
100224-XX).

Connecting through RS232

Two nine-pin D-sub connectors, labeled RS232 IN and RS232 OUT on the input panel, are dedicated
to serial communication.
