IM 308-C
By setting master parameters for the IM 308-C, you define:
S5-95U as DP
By setting master parameters for an S5-95U as DP master you define:

Designation
Station number
The station number is a bus-wide unique number which you assign to the DP master.
Note that the station number does not correspond to the number of the IM 308-C.
1 to 123 for linear addressing
1 to 119 for P-page addressing
1 to 107 for Q-page addressing
Station type
Select the type of the DP master.
Station
Assign a name for the master system. Max. length: 40 characters.
designation
In host
Select the name of the host which contains the DP master.

the designation of the IM 308-C
the host to which the IM 308-C is assigned
how the distributed I/O is addressed
whether the IM 308-C is addressed by the CPU in multiprocessor mode
and

whether response monitoring of the DP slaves is active/inactive
