Upgrading to COM ET 200 Windows or to IM 308-C
Property
The number of DP masters is no longer restricted
to 3, as it was in earlier versions of COM ET 200.
The station numbers for an IM 308-C are freely
assignable (1 through 123 and 119 through 107).
The IM 308-C can send FREEZE and SYNC
commands to synchronize the DP slaves.
Depending on the DP standard slave, a maximum
40 bytes are available for diagnostic messages.
All parameterized data of a master-system
configuration is stored on a high-capacity memory
card (128 kbytes).
In future, the firmware of the IM 308-C can be
upgraded using memory cards. It is no longer
necessary to remove the IM 308-C from the
system and return it to a Siemens supplier.
( IM 308-C release 3 and higher)
Property
The choice of baud rates now includes 3 Mbaud,
6 Mbaud and 12 Mbaud.
The bus connectors are more compact and it is now
easier to tell whether the terminating resistor is
activated or deactivated.
There are more compact RS 485 repeaters that you can
use for all baud rates up to 12 Mbaud.
Station numbers between 1 and 123 can be assigned to
all DP masters and DP slaves.
