IM 308-C – starting ET 200

11.1 Starting and operating the ET 200

Preconditions
Starting the ET 200
(switching on)
11-2
We assume:
that you have exported the data for each master system to a separate
memory card (see Section 8.4)
that you have already inserted the memory card(s) in the corresponding
IM 308-C master interface(s) (see Section 3.4)
that you have checked the configuration of the distributed I/O system.
Note
If the status of the IM 308-C is CLEAR, outputs are set to "0" but the inputs
are still read.
If the CPU issues BASP (command output lock) while the status of the
IM 308-C is CLEAR, the inputs are updated continuously but data consis-
tency is not ensured for the inputs.
When you are ready to start the ET 200 distributed I/O system:
1. Test the wiring to the sensors and actuators of the individual DP slaves:
For example, you can use the ET 200 handheld to run the status/control
function for each DP slave and read the diagnostic report. The ET 200
handheld is described in a separate manual. The order number for this
manual is 6ES5 998-7ET.1.
Result: After testing the DP slaves, you are sure that each DP slave is
fully operational.
2. Connect all DP slaves and DP masters with the L2 bus cable.
3. Switch on the power supply units of the DP slaves.
4. Set the STOP/RUN switches of the DP slaves (if fitted) to RUN.
