Hardwired Zones

The hard wired Zones can be used for sys tem mon i tor -
ing (Alarm Zones), or man age ment (Con trol Zones).
Alarm Zones If Alarm con di tions are de tected, the
Alarm Zones will gen er ate the re spec tive event (re fer to
"Type"). The Events-Ac tion page will al low you to as -
so ci ate each event with one or more ac tions (ac ti va tion
of Hornstrobes, Dig i tal Com mu ni ca tor, Dial ler, etc.).
The sys tem can not gen er ate an Alarm event un til the Par -
ti tions the Zone is as signed to Arm
This does not ap ply to 24h and Fire Zone events,
as these events do not de pend on Par ti tion sta tus.
If the zone is NOT an Exit De lay or Last Exit Zone (re -
fer to "Type") the Con trol Panel will start mon i tor ing as
soon as the Par ti tions the Zone is as signed to Arm
oth er wise, it will start mon i tor ing when the lon gest Exit
Time of the Armed Par ti tions the Zone is as signed to
ends (re fer to "Par ti tions").
The sys tem will gen er ate an Alarm when the volt age on
the Zone ter mi nal falls within the Alarm volt age range
(re fer to "Volt age Ranges") for the pro grammed num -
ber of times and/or length of time (re fer to "Sen si tiv ity").
Each Alarm Zone can gen er ate the Zone Alarm event
for the pro grammed num ber of times (re fer to "Cy cles").
Command Zones Each Com mand Zone can be pro -
grammed to ac ti vate one of the fol low ing ac tions:
Switch Par ti tion sta tus
Arm and Dis arm Par ti tions
Arm Par ti tions only
Dis arm Par ti tions only
Re set Par ti tions
Re set Con trol Panel
Can cel tele phone calls
Not Ready to Arm
Ready to Arm
The Com mand Zones will ac ti vate when they
are un bal anced (re fer to "Bal ance") for the
pro grammed num ber of times or length of
time (re fer to "Sen si tiv ity").
The BPI Zones page will al low you to pro -
gram the Hard wired Zones (for Wire less
Zones re fer to the "Wire less" para graph).
The chart on the left side of the BPI Zones
page shows the avail able hard wired Zones
(re fer to "Con fig u ra tion").
If an M-IN/OUT Ex pander is con fig ured as an
Ex pander with 4 Zones + Ex pander with 2 Out -
puts, only the Zones cor re spond ing to ter mi -

be us able.
The fol low ing in for ma tion will be shown for each Zone.
No. This field shows the Zone ID num ber that will be
used (in stead of the Zone De scrip tion) in some parts of
the ap pli ca tion (re fer to "De scrip tion").
Position This field shows the De scrip tion of the hard -
ware com po nent the Zone is as signed to. This la bel can
be ed ited on the Con fig u ra tion page.
The Po si tion of the Con trol panel Zones (Main
Unit) is non-editable.
Device This field shows the ID num ber (Ad dress) of
the de vice the Zone is as signed to. A hy phen in di cates
that the Zone is as signed to the Con trol Panel.
Ter. This field shows the Zone ter mi nal tag.
The num bers L1, L2, ..., L6 on M-IN/OUT Ex pand -
ers pro grammed as In put Ex pand ers cor re spond,
re spec tively to ter mi nals T1, T2, ..., T3.
Description This 16 char ac ter field will al low you to as -
sign and/or edit the Zone De scrip tion. The la bel will
iden tify the Zone in all parts of the Soft ware Ap pli ca tion.
The chart on the right-hand side of the BPI Zones page
will al low you to change the Zone set tings. The Zone
must be se lected from the Zones list.

Type

The Type de ter mines the af fect the Armed/Dis armed
sta tus of the sys tem will have on the Alarm sig nals, and
