Mounting the Main Unit

Please read this sec tion care fully to get an over all view of
the steps in volved in in stall ing the KYO320 Main Unit. The
KYO320 Main Unit should be lo cated in a safe, dry place
that is far from sources of in ter fer ence.
Once you have se lected a suit able place, cre ate a lay -
out of all the sys tem pe riph er als (Key pads, Readers,
De tec tors, etc.) and en sure that you will be able to con -
nect the Main power, pe riph er als, and if nec es sary, the
tele phone line to the KYO320 with out dif fi culty. Al low at
least 5 cm of free space around the Main Unit for air
flow.

The Main Unit must be at least 2 metres from
GSM and ra dio re lay sys tems.
Work care fully through the fol low ing steps (see Fig ure
on page 10).
1. Re move the screws 1 and frontplate.
2. In stall add-on mod ules and boards (K3/VOX2,
etc.), re fer to the re spec tive para graphs for in struc -
tions.
3. Drill the holes for the cab i net and Seize microswitch
bracket an chor screws (5 and 13 re spec tively).
4. Pull the con nec tion wires through the wire en try 11
then at tach the cab i net and Seize microswitch
bracket to the wall.
DO NOT over tighten the screws as this may dam -
age the Seize microswitch bracket.
5. Com plete the con nec tions — DO NOT con nect the
MAINS un til all other wir ing has been com pleted.
6. Con nect the Mains Power (re fer to "Con necting the
Mains Power").

Connecting Keypads

Keypads should be lo cated in places where full con trol
of the sys tem is re quired: MIA-D, ALISON-DVP,
Alison-S(B029) and Alison32LP Keypads can be sur -
face mounted on Mod. 503, 10x10 sin gle gang and dou -
ble gang out let boxes or sim i lar.
Key pads should be mounted at eye level for easy
view ing.
Work care fully through the fol low ing steps (see Fig ures
on page 12) and/or re spec tive man u als.
1. Re move the screws 66 and frontplate.
If you are in stall ing a MIA-D Key pad go to step 3.
If you are in stall ing an ALISON-DVP Key pad go to
step 2.
2. Dis con nect the Loud speaker 82a from its In put
74a.
3. Push the PCB clip 78 up wards to re lease the PCB.
4. If you are sur face mount ing the Key pad: drill the
holes for the backplate an chor screws 76, and if re -
quired, for the Seize microswitch bracket screw 82.
5. If you are fit ting a Seize microswitch (Or der Code:
ASNC), push it firmly into its lo ca tion (79 in Fig. 7)
and en sure that the Seize microswitch le ver is held
firmly in po si tion by the bracket tooth.
6. Pull the wires through the wire en try 70.
7. Us ing the an chor screws, se cure the backplate and
Seize microswitch bracket to the wall.
Seize microswitches can not be fit ted to out let
mounted Keypads.
8. Re place the PCB, and if re quired, con nect the Seize
microswitch to the con nec tor 65.
If you are in stall ing a MIA-D Key pad go to step 10.

9. Con nect the Loud speaker 82a to its In put 74a.
10. As sign the Key pad Ad dress, then set the BPI Level
and com plete the con nec tions on the ter mi nal
board (re fer to "Con necting BPI Pe riph erals" for in -
struc tions).
