You can pro gram the sys tem us ing a LCD Key pad, or us -
ing the KYO320 down loading soft ware from the Bentel
Se cu rity Suite Soft ware pack age (ac ces sory item).
The fol low ing op tions and pa ram e ters CANNOT
BE pro grammed from Keypads:
— the Sen si tiv ity of the Hard wired Zones;
the Sched uler pa ram e ters — ex cept for the Max.
no. over time re quests and Over time Re quest;
— the Tim ers.
— En able Key pad Codes (LCD and LED keypads)
and/or Keys /Cards.
The fol low ing op er a tions CAN BE DONE from
Keypads ONLY:
— Re cord and play back of Voice Mes sages;
— En able and Pro gram Key/Card Codes;
— Re quest Log Print out;
— En rol/Unenrol the B-NET mod ule.
If you are pro gram ming the sys tem from a Key pad, re fer
to the in struc tions in the "PRO GRAM MING FROM
KEY PAD" man ual.
This sec tion pro vides in for ma tion on the sys tem
pa ram e ters, and should be re ferred to also when
pro gram ming from a Key pad.
Read this sec tion thor oughly to learn how to in stall and
use the KYO320 soft ware ap pli ca tion.
1. In stall the KYO320 soft ware ap pli ca tion as de -
scribed in the Se cu rity Suite man ual.
2. Run the KYO320 ap pli ca tion.
3. Se lect the Con trol panel Type (re fer to the Cus -
tomer data para graph) and the Firm ware Re lease
(re fer to the Op tions para graph in the Se cu rity
Suite man ual).
4. NOTE: When pro gram ming the KYO320, se lect
File > INIT then setup the Panel Type and Firm -
ware Re lease in the Pa ram e ters win dow.
5. Pro gram the pa ram e ters (re fer to the re spec tive
para graphs for in struc tions).
6. Down load the pro grammed pa ram e ters (re fer to the
re spec tive para graph: On-site Pro gram ming via
Com puter or Re mote Pro gram ming via Com puter).

The sys tem pa ram e ters are or ga nized in Pages. The
Pro gramming Pages in this sec tion are con gru ent with
the KYO320 soft ware struc ture.

Configuration (Enrolling Devices)

On startup the Con trol panel will au to mat i cally en rol all
the BPI Bus pe riph er als (re fer to "Power sup ply con nec -
tion" un der "IN STAL LA TION"). Any changes af ter au to -
matic en roll ment must be made by the In staller.
Dur ing the poll ing pro cess, the Con trol panel will match the
in ter ro ga tion re sult with the stored con fig u ra tion and, in the
event of mis match, will gen er ate the re spec tive warn ing.
The Con fig u ra tion sec tion is di vided into pages — one
for each type of de vice ( Keypads, In put Ex pand ers,
Out put Ex pand ers, Read ers, Power Sup ply Sta tions
and Ac ces so ries ).
The fol low ing pro gram ming in struc tions re fer to pa ram -
e ters com mon to all BPI de vices. For in struc tions on
how to pro gram the pa ram e ters of a spe cific de vice, re -
fer to the rel e vant para graph.

If a pe riph eral de vice has not been con nected prop erly
to the BPI bus, or fails to re spond (De vice Lost) due to
Trou ble or Tam per, an X will be shown above the s icon
on the Key pad, and the Con trol Panel will gen er ate the
re spec tive event, as fol lows:
PRO GRAM MING FROM THE PC
The pro grammed pa ram e ters can be saved on
hard or floppy disk, and down loaded to the Con trol
panel via mo dem or on-site. The pro grammed pa -
ram e ters can be re named and re used for dif fer ent
Cus tomers (re fer to "Save" and "Open Cus tomer"
in the "Bentel Se cu rity Suite" Man ual).
If the Con trol Panel is con nected to a com puter, it
will be pos si ble to view the con fig u ra tion by load ing
the Con fig u ra tion page.
The de vices con nected to the BPI Bus must be Se -
The Se lect but ton (on the bot tom of the page) will
al low you to se lect/de se lect all the de vices on the
page at once.
