10 K The wir ing di a gram in Fig. 14 il lus trates the con -
nec tion of a de tec tor to a zone with 10 K, or 10 K Alarm
Only bal ance.

The 10 KΩ re sis tor must be con nected to the
last de tec tor of the zone.
10 K bal ance will al low the Con trol panel to de tect
Alarm and Short-cir cuit on the zone:
– the zone will hold Standby sta tus when con nected to
neg a tive via a10 KΩ re sis tor;
– the zone will trig ger short-cir cuit when con nected to
neg a tive;
– the zone will trig ger Alarm un der all other con di tions.
To pro vide Tam per de tec tion: con nect the Tam per con -
tact of the de tec tor to the Con trol panel Tam per Line, or
to a 24h zone (re fer to "Con necting Tam per Con tacts").

tors con nected in par al lel);
– the zone will trig ger short-cir cuit when con nected to
neg a tive;
– the zone will trig ger Tam per when open;
– the zone will trig ger Alarm un der all other con di tions.
Zones with Dou ble bal ance can de tect and sig nal
Alarm and Tam per by means of just two wires.
To pro vide Tam per de tec tion on zones with Normally
Closed or 10 K bal ance:
ei ther con nect the de tec tor tam per con tact to the Con -
trol panel Tam per Line — this type of con nec tion does
not pro vide iden ti fi ca tion of the tam pered de tec tor;
or con nect the de tec tor tam per con tact to a 24h zone —
this type of con nec tion re quires two zones — one for
Alarm de tec tion, and the other for Tam per de tec tion (re -
fer to "Con necting Tam per Con tacts").

Glass Break Detectors

Fig. 16 il lus trates the con nec tion of 3 Glass Break de -
tec tors to a zone with Glass Break bal ance.

Glass Break zones ac cept up to 20 de tec tors.
The con tin u ous lines in the wir ing di a gram rep re sent
the soft-sol dered con duc tors of the de tec tor, and the
bro ken lines rep re sent the cop per wires.
Con nect the Glass Break de tec tors in par al lel be tween
the zone and neg a tive, and a 10 kW re sis tor in par al lel
to the last de tec tor.
