Wiring

The sec tion de scribes how to wire the Main Unit, BPI
bus pe riph er als and var i ous se cu rity de vices.
Each wir ing di a gram re fers to a spe cific type of de vice
(BPI bus de vices, De tec tors and Sig nalling de vices).
Use shielded ca ble for all con nec tions, with one
end con nected to neg a tive and the other float ing.

The end of the stranded con duc tor must not be
soft sol dered in places where it is sub ject to
con tact pres sure.

The Mains wir ing must com ply with the rules
for dou ble or re in forced in su la tion.
Use an ad he sive ca ble grip to se cure the wires to
the ter mi nal boards.

About the Wiring Diagrams The lo ca tions of the ter -
mi nals in the wir ing di a grams may be dif fer ent to those
on the board.
The Zone ter mi nals may be long to the Con trol panel,
the Keypads or the In put/Out put Ex pand ers;
The Out put ter mi nals may be long to the Con trol
panel or the In put/Out put Ex pand ers;
the In put zone and the Open-Col lec tor Out put ter mi -

nals (in the wir ing di a grams) can be found on the
Main Unit or Ex panders;
only the ter mi nals re quired for the con nec tion are
shown in the wir ing di a grams.

Connecting BPI Bus Devices

The BPI bus sup ports the fol low ing de vices:
up to 32 Key pads
up to 32 Readers
up to 32 In put Ex pand ers
up to 16 Out put Ex pand ers
up to 8 Power sta tions
up to 16 LED Key pads
Electrical Connections The BPI bus de vices must be
con nected in par al lel to ter mi nals [+], [C], [R], [–] on the
Main Unit, as shown in Fig. 11.
The Power Sta tion has two groups of ter mi nals for the
BPI bus con nec tion: the BPI-IN group — for the Power
Sta tion; and the BPI-OUT group — for the BPI de vices
con nected down stream of the Power Sta tion.
The two groups of ter mi nals are elec tri cally iso lated,
there fore, all the ca bles and de vices con nected down -
stream of the Power Sta tion will not load the Con trol
panel BPI bus.

de tails.
Only one Power Sta tion can be con nected to each
shunt of the Con trol panel BPI bus (see Fig. 12).
