Thermal Probe

This Con trol panel has an on-board con nec tor 31 for a
KST ther mal probe (ac ces sory item). The probe will op -
ti mize the backup bat tery charge pro cess, by reg u lat ing
the charge volt age in ac cor dance with the tem per a ture
of the backup bat tery.
Work care fully through the fol low ing in struc tions (re fer
to the fig ure on page 10):
1. Con nect the probe 9 to the con nec tor 62 (PTC) on
the Switch ing Power sup ply.
2. At tach the probe to the backup bat tery, in such a
way as to ob tain op ti mum heat trans fer.
3. Con nect the con nec tor of backup bat tery 53 on
the PCB.
4. Mea sure the Probe tem per a ture.
5. Using the graph in Fig ure 25 and/or Ta ble 3, find
the value (in ac cor dance with the bat tery tem per a -
ture) that the Switching Power sup ply out put volt -
age will be based on.
6. Using the trim mer 54, ad just the volt age on the ter -
mi nal board 55 to the re quired value.
