13.8 V pos i tive is pres ent on Main Unit [+F] and [+F1] ter -
mi nals — pro tected by fuses 37 and 36 (F 1.85A).
[+F] and [M] (neg a tive) for each pair of zones on
Keypads and the In put/Out put Ex pand ers.
13.8 V pos i tive is pres ent on Key pad and In put/Out put
Ex pand ers [+F] ter mi nals — pro tected by resettable fuse
(0.4 A).
Each zone can sup port sev eral de tec tors. How ever, if
more than one de tec tor is con nected, the Con trol panel
will be un able to iden tify the de tec tor in the event of an
Alarm.
This sys tem can de tect Alarm, Tam per and Short-cir cuit
on hard wired zones:
Zone Alarm will be sig nalled by an Alarm on zone
no. event;
Zone Tam per will be sig nalled by a Tam per on zone
no. event;
Short-cir cuit will be sig nalled by a Tam per on zone
no. event.
The Zone sta tus de pends on sev eral pa ram e ters (re fer
to "Hard wired Zones" in the "PRO GRAMMING FROM
PC" sec tion). This sec tion re fers to the Bal ance type. If
only this pa ram e ter is con sid ered, the zone sta tus will
de pend on the re sis tance be tween its ter mi nal and neg -
a tive, as shown in Ta ble 2.
The fol low ing para graphs de scribe the con nec tions of
var i ous types of de tec tors.
The 10 KΩ re sis tors are in cluded in the Re sis tor pack.

The 10 KΩ re sis tors have brown, black, or ange and
gold bands. The last band (gold) in di cates the tol er -
ance, and there fore, may be a dif fer ent col our.
Most Mo tion de tec tors have Normally-Closed Con tacts
(NC in the wir ing di a gram), and Normally-Closed Tam -
per Con tacts (AS in the wir ing di a gram).
The zone bal ance can be pro grammed as:
– Normally Closed
– Normally Open
– 10 K
– 10 K Alarm
– Dou ble
– Glass Break
The con nec tion type de pends on the se lected bal ance.
In Fig ures 13, 14 and 15 the:
Normally Closed The wir ing di a gram in Fig. 13 il lus -
trates the con nec tion of a de tec tor to a zone with
Normally Closed bal ance.
Normally Closed bal ance will al low the Con trol panel to
de tect Alarm sta tus on the zone:
– the zone will hold Standby sta tus whilst con nected to
neg a tive;
– the zone will trig ger Alarm un der all other con di tions.
To pro vide Tam per de tec tion: con nect the Tam per con -
tact of the de tec tor to the Con trol panel Tam per Line, or to a
24h zone (re fer to "Con necting Tam per Con tacts").

Connecting Motion Detectors

[+] and [–] ter mi nals rep re sent the pos i tive and neg a -
tive ter mi nals;
[NC] ter mi nals are the Normally Closed Alarm Con -
tacts of the de tec tor;
[AS] ter mi nals are the Normally Closed Tam per Con -
tacts of the de tec tor.
