Connecting Alarm Signalling Devices

Alarm Sig nalling De vices, such as: Self-Powered Si -
rens, In door Si rens, Tele phones Dial lers, etc., can be
clas si fied as fol lows:
In trin sic Se cu rity De vices (e.g. Self-Powered Si -
rens) ac ti vated by volt age fail ure on the re spec tive
ter mi nal;
Pos i tive Alarm Line de vices (e.g. In door Si rens) ac -
ti vated by pos i tive (12 V) on the re spec tive ter mi nal.
Neg a tive Alarm Line de vices ac ti vated by neg a tive
pos i tive on the re spec tive ter mi nal.
Bal ance Alarm Line de vices ac ti vated by im ped -
ance un bal ance on the re spec tive ter mi nal.
The KYO320 is equipped with 6 Out puts ex pand able to
118 by means of the pro gram ma ble In put/Out put Ex -
pander and the ALISON32LP keypad:
6 Outputs on the Main Unit
96 Outputs
on 16 M-IN/OUT Ex pand ers pro grammed
as Out put Ex pand ers (6 zones per Ex -
pander).

On 16 LED Key pads (1 Out put per Key -
pad)

The three Out puts on the Main Unit (no. 1, 2, and 3)
com prise ter mi nals:
+N1, +A1, C1-NC1-NA1
+N2, +A2, C2-NC2-NA2
+N3, +A3, C3-NC3-NA3
The other Out puts on the Con trol Panel are made up of
ter mi nals OC1, OC2 etc. The Out puts from the In -
put/Out put Ex pander are marked [T1], [T2], etc.
The Standby sta tus of the Out puts can be pro grammed
as fol lows:
[+N] ter mi nals can be con nected to pos i tive (13.8 V)
or can be open, and there fore can be used to ac ti vate

[+A] ter mi nals can be open or con nected to pos i tive
(13.8 V), and there fore can be used to ac ti vate Pos i -
tive Alarm Line de vices;
[C] ter mi nals can be con nected to their re spec tive
ter mi nals [NC] or [NA], and there fore, can be used to
ac ti vate all types of sig nal ling de vices;
[OC] ter mi nals (ter mi nals [T] for the M-IN/OUT Ex -
pand ers pro grammed as Out puts) can be open or
con nected to neg a tive, and there fore, can be used to
ac ti vate Neg a tive Alarm Line de vices
The OC ter mi nals on the Con trol Panel can switch a
max i mum of 1 A, whereas ter mi nals T on M-IN/OUT
Ex pand ers can switch a max i mum of 0.15 A. To
switch larger cur rents use the Om nia/4R Re lay
Board.
The ac ti va tion/restoral of Out puts de pends on var i ous
pa ram e ters (re fer to "Out puts" un der "PRO GRAMMING
FROM PC").

The wir ing di a gram in Fig. 18 il lus trates con nec tion of a
Self-pow ered Si ren and an In door Si ren to Out puts
no. 1 and no. 2 on the Main Unit:
Out puts no. 1 and no. 2 on the Main Unit are pro -
grammed as Normally Closed;
[+N] is the pos i tive power and In put of the Self-pow -
ered Si ren. The Si ren will ac ti vate when pos i tive
(13.8 V) fails on the [+N] ter mi nal;
[+B] is the pos i tive power and In put of the In door Si -
ren. The Si ren will ac ti vate when pos i tive (13.8 V) is
ap plied to the [+N] ter mi nal;
[M] and [GND] are the neg a tive power ter mi nals of
the Self-pow ered Si ren and In door Si ren;
[A.S.] and [AS1-AS2] are the Normally Closed Tam -
per con tacts of the Self-pow ered Si ren and In door Si -
ren.
To pro vide Tam per de tec tion: con nect the Sig nalling
de vice Tam per con tact to the Con trol panel Tam per
Line or to a 24h zone (re fer to "Con necting Tam per
Con tacts").

Supervised Outputs

Out puts no. 1, 2 and 3 can be set up as Su per vised Out -
puts. This type of out put must be pro grammed as Nor -
mally Closed (re fer to "At trib utes" un der "Out puts" in the
"PRO GRAM MING" sec tion). The Con trol panel can de -
tect short-cir cuit and Con nec tion in ter rupt to ter mi nals
+A of Out puts with this at trib ute. The wir ing di a gram in
Fig. 20 il lus trates the con nec tion of an In door Si ren to a
Su per vised Out put us ing a 2.2 KΩ across ter mi nals +A
and neg a tive. Sieze Tam per Microswitch
The two 2.2 KΩ re sis tors (in cluded in the pack age)
have 3 red bands and a gold band. The last band (gold)
in di cates the tol er ance, there fore, it may be a dif fer ent
col our.
The 2.2 KΩ re sis tor must be con nected to the last
de vice on the Out put, oth er wise it will have no ef -
fect.
