3.16 Wiring Checklist

3.16 Wiring Checklist
No.
1
Check drive model number to ensure receipt of correct model.
2
Make sure you have the correct peripheral devices.
3
Check the option card model number.
4
Ensure that the area surrounding the drive complies with specifications.
5
The voltage from the power supply should be within the input voltage specification range of the drive.
6
The voltage rating for the motor should match the drive output specifications.
7
Verify that the drive is properly sized to run the motor.
8
Power supply voltage of models CIMR-U40477 to 40930 should not exceed 480 V when connecting with recommended EMC filters.
9
Confirm proper branch circuit protection as specified by national and local codes.
10
Properly wire the power supply to drive terminals R/L1, S/L2, and T/L3.
Properly wire the drive and motor together.
11
The motor lines and drive output terminals U/T1, V/T2, and W/T3 should match in order to produce the desired phase order. If the phase order
is incorrect, the drive will rotate in the opposite direction.
Use 600 Vac vinyl-sheathed wire for the power supply and motor lines. Wire gauge recommendations based on using 75°C, 600 Vac
12
vinyl-sheathed wire.
Use the correct wire gauges for the main circuit.
• When using comparatively long motor cable, calculate the amount of voltage drop.
Motor rated voltage (V) × 0.02 ≥
13
3 × wire resistance (Ω/km) × cable length (m) × motor rated current (A) × 10
• If the cable between the drive and motor exceeds 50 m, adjust the carrier frequency set to C6-02 accordingly.
14
Properly ground the drive.
Tightly fasten all terminal screws (control circuit terminals, grounding terminals).
15
Refer to Main Circuit Wire Gauges and Tightening Torque on page
Set up overload protection circuits when running multiple motors from a single drive.
16
Note: Close MC1 through MCn before operating the drive (MC1 through MCn cannot be switched off during run).
17
Verify that ground wiring for models 2E/2W/4E/4W is correct before turning on the EMC filter switch.
18
Verify phase advancing capacitors, input noise filters, or ground fault circuit interrupters are NOT installed on the output side of the drive.
Properly wire the power lines to terminals X, Y, and Z of models CIMR-U40720 to 40930, and terminals X, Y, and Z of the harmonic
19
filter module.
Properly wire the power lines to terminals X1, Y1, and Z1 of models CIMR-U40720 to 40930, and terminals X1, Y1, and Z1 of the
20
harmonic filter module.
Properly wire the power lines to terminals p2 and n2 of models CIMR-U40720 to 40930, and terminals p2 and n2 of the harmonic filter
21
module.
22
The cable between CIMR-U40720 to 40930 and harmonic filter module should not exceed 5 m.
The resistance value between the terminals R/L1, S/L2, and T/L3 of the harmonic filter module should exceed 1000 Ω when connected to
23
models CIMR-U40720 to 40930. If the resistance value does not exceed 1000 Ω, check for main circuit wiring mistakes between the
harmonic filter module and models CIMR-U40720 to 40930.
24
Systems should be interlocked to shut off power to the drive if the drive experiences a fault for models CIMR-U40477 to 40930.
25
Use twisted-pair line for all drive control circuit wiring.
26
Ground the shields of shielded wiring to the GND
If using a 3-wire sequence, properly set parameters for multi-function contact input terminals S1 through S8, and properly wire control
27
circuits.
