◆ Enable the Internal EMC Filter
An EMC filter is built in model CIMR-U□□E□□□□/U□□W□□□□. <1>
Change the placement of the EMC filter screw when switching the EMC filter between enabled (ON) or disabled (OFF).
<2>
<1> Models CIMR-U□4□0477 to 4□0930 are not available. Be sure to use a stand-alone EMC filter for models
CIMR-U□4□0477 to 4□0930.
<2> Models CIMR-U□2E0248, 2W0248, 4E0216, 4E0240, 4W0216, 4W0240 have two EMC filter screws.
Prevent Drive Damage.
NOTICE:
Install the two EMC filter screws in the same position (ON and ON, or OFF and OFF). Failure to comply may result
in serious damage to the drive.
If EMC is a concern and the network is grounded symmetrically, install the EMC filter screw to the ON position and turn
ON (enable) the internal EMC filter. Drives are shipped with EMC filter screw installed at the OFF position.
Prevent Drive Damage.
NOTICE:
Install the EMC filter screw in the OFF position. Installing the EMC filter screw disables the internal EMC filter if
the network is grounded as follows. Failure to comply may result in serious damage to the drive.
• Floating network
• High impedance grounded network
• Asymmetrically grounded network
◆ EMC Guidelines Compliance
・CIMR-U□2□0028 to 2□0248, CIMR-U□4□0011 to 4□0414
If EMC is a concern and the network is grounded symmetrically, install the EMC filter screw to the ON position of a
drive with an internal EMC filter and turn ON (enable) the internal EMC filter. Drives are shipped with EMC filter screw
installed at the OFF position.
Drives with internal EMC filters (CIMR-U□□E□□□□/□W□□□□) <1> are tested according to European
standards IEC/EN 61800-3: 2004/A1: 2012 and complies with EMC guidelines.
<1> Drives with customized specifications A and P are not compatible. Refer to Model Number, 1.3 Model Number
and Nameplate Check, in the U1000 Technical Manual for details on customized specifications.
・CIMR-U□4□0477 to 4□0930
Use drives with stand-alone EMC filters to comply with EMC guidelines. Refer to EMC Guidelines Compliance for
CIMR-U□4□0477□□□ to 4□0930□□□, D.2 European Standards, in the U1000 Technical Manual for EMC filter
selection.
Drives with stand-alone EMC filters (CIMR-U□4□0477□□□ to 4□0930□□□) are tested according to
European standards IEC/EN 61800-3: 2004/A1: 2012 and complies with EMC guidelines.
