Running a Send WB Tone Test

To run a Send WB Tone Test, do the following:
1.
From the XDSL toolbox, select
The
Send WB Tone
2.
Press A(
Enter Send Frequency
between 10 kHz and 1200 kHz, then press L.
3.
Press K.
The tester begins sending the specified tone.
4.
To stop sending the tone, press M or K.

ADSL Auto-Test

The ADSL Auto-Test is a double-ended test that performs essentially the same
WB Loss sub-test included in the DSL Auto-Test described earlier in the
chapter, with
ADSL
yet comprehensive ADSL DMT (Discrete Multi-Tone) transmission test on the
pair, compliant with ANSI T1.413 standard frequencies. It provides the
following results:
Predicted Upstream and Downstream Data Rates achievable on the line.
Insertion Loss values at each ADSL DMT frequency (8 kHz to 1104 kHz).
Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR) values at each ADSL DMT frequency.
Encoded number of Bits / Tone at each ADSL DMT frequency.
The test requires another CopperPro or TN2100 "Terminator" at the far end of
the pair to act as the "Sending Unit". The units automatically communicate
with each other over the test pair, so you don't need a separate control pair.

Setting Up an ADSL Auto-Test

1.
From the XDSL Toolbox, select
