STABILATOR CONTROL SYSTEM
Lost motion between
control wheel and stabi-
lator.
Cable tension too low.
Linkage loose or worn.
Adjust cable tension
per paragraph 5-15.
Check linkage and
tighten or replace.
Broken pulley.
Cables not in place
on pulleys.
Replace pulley.
Install cables cor-
rectly.
Resistance to stabilator
control movement.
System not lubricated
properly.
Lubricate system.
Cable tension too high.
Binding control column.
Pulleys binding or
rubbing.
Cables not in place on
pulleys.
Cables crossed or
routed incorrectly.
Bent stabilator hinge.
Adjust cable tension
per paragraph 5-15.
Adjust and lubricate
per paragraph 5-5 or 5-5B.
Replace binding pulleys
and/or provide clearance
between pulleys and
brackets.
Install cables cor-
rectly.
Check routing of control
cables.
Repair or replace
stabilator hinge.
Incorrect stabilator
travel.
Stabilator stops
incorrectly adjusted.
Adjust stop screws per
paragraph 5-15.
