Alignment problem service check

Step
1
Turn off the printer by unplugging the power cord. Wait for
10 seconds, and turn on the printer.
Align the printer. Do either of the following:
• Bring the printer up in Manufacturing mode. From the
home screen, touch
Align Printer.
• From the home screen, touch
Options > Align Printer.
Does the problem remain?

Check the following conditions for the alignment sensor:
• Proper installation to the carrier assembly.
• Contamination with ink mist.
• Connection to the carrier card.
Is the alignment sensor properly connected?

Check the carrier card for any damage.
Is the carrier card free from any damage?

Check the encoder strip for any contamination. Clean it
with a piece of cloth.
Does the problem remain?

Replace the alignment sensor. See
