Operation

Simplex
The media is fed from the input tray by the ACM. The media moves forward, and is fed between the nip of
the first feed assist rollers (A1) and continues until the media hits the staging sensor. For the first pick, the
pick system reverses, and A1 feeds the paper through A2, and both feed assist rollers move the media
forward to the feed roll. Then the media triggers the EOF sensor before it reaches the feed roller. Once the
leading edge of the paper has triggered the EOF sensor, the assist rollers continue feeding forward while
the feed roller turns in reverse direction for a few milliseconds to deskew the media. The feed roller then
moves the media forward to the print zone. For succeeding pages of plain paper, deskewing is performed
by the first assist roller (A1) pushing the media against the second assist roller (A2) for a certain distance.
Then the media is fed through the feed roll without another deskew.
When the media reaches the print zone, the printer starts to print. The feed roller indexes the paper from
one print position to another, as needed for the print job.
After printing has completed, the media exits through the exit rollers, and lands in the output bin. On
multipage jobs, once the trailing edge of the media passes a certain position relative to the EOF sensor,
the printer may pick the next sheet.
