Controllo usura pastiglie freno
Controllare in accordo con la "Tabella di manutenzione", l'usura delle pastiglie.
Il loro spessore "A":
a) anteriormente non deve essere inferiore a quello evidenziato dalle tacche
controllo usura; (SM 610S) oppure a 3,8 mm(TE 610E);
b) posteriormente non deve essere inferiore a 3,8 mm.
Il materiale di attrito non deve essere utilizzato sino a far affiorare la piastrina
metallica in quanto questa, a contatto con il disco, lo danneggerebbe in maniera
irreparabile e verrebbe a mancare quel minimo di materiale che assicura
l'isolamento termico tra pastiglia e fluido freni.
Per la sostituzione delle pastiglie operare in questo modo:
- Togliere i perni 1 sulle pinze freno SM 610S(sulla pinza anteriore è necessario
rimuovere prima la molletta (2);
- Rimuovere le pastiglie;
- Montare le nuove pastiglie freno;
- Rimontare i perni (1) ed anteriormente SM 610S anche la molletta (2).
Operando come sopra descritto, dopo la sostituzione delle pastiglie, non è
necessario eseguire lo spurgo dell'impianto, ma è sufficiente azionare la leva di
comando ripetutamente fino a riportare i pistoncini nella posizione normale.
E' opportuno, nell'operazione di sostituzione delle pastiglie,
togliere un po' di fluido dal serbatoio, poiché l'arretramento dei
pistoncini potrebbe far traboccare il fluido dal serbatoio.
Checking brake pads wear
Check according to the "Maintenance table" the brake pad wear; their thickness
"A":
a) The front pad thickness must not be lower than the thickness pinted out by the
notches for wear control (SM 610S) or 0,15 in.(TE 610E);
b) The rear pad thickness must not be lower than 3.8 mm.
The pad should not be allowed to wear down until the metal base plate is revealed;
the metal to metal contact between pad base plate and disc will seriously damage
the disc; the absence of friction material in this case will cause overheating since
there is no longer an insulating barrier between pad brake fluid.
To replace the pads proceed as follows:
- Remove pins (1); SM 610S remove before the spring (2) of the front brake.
- Remove pads;
- Mount new brake pads;
- Remount the pins (1); SM 610S install the spring (2) of the front brake too.
If the above procedure is followed it will not be necesssary to bleed the brake
system after new pads have been fitted.
Pumping the brake lever several times is sufficient to return the piston their normal
position.
During the operation of pads replacement, it is advisable to
remove a small quantity of fluid from reservoir, as piston backing
inside cylinders could cause overflowing of fluid from reservoir.
