3.11 Hard Disk Test

To execute the Hard Disk Test, select 8 from the DIAGNOSTIC TEST menu, press Enter
and follow the directions displayed on the screen. The hard disk test contains 10 subtests that
test the T1960CS/T1960CT hard disk drive functions.
CAUTION: The contents of the hard disk will be erased when Subtest 02, 03, 04, 05, 06,
08, 09, or 10 is executed. Before running the test, transfer the contents of the hard disk
to a backup system. This can be done with the Toshiba MS-DOS BACKUP command.
After the hard disk test is completed, execute the Toshiba MS-DOS FDISK command,
which will set the partition. Then execute the Toshiba MS-DOS FORMAT command.
Refer to the Toshiba MS-DOS manual for details.
The following messages will appear after selecting the hard disk test from the DIAGNOSTIC
TEST menu. Answer each of the questions with an appropriate response to execute the test.
1. When you select the hard disk test from the DIAGNOSTIC TEST menu, the
following message will appear:
T1960CS:
Test drive number select (1:HDD#1,2:HDD#2,0:HDD1&2) ?
T1960CT:
Test drive number select : HDD#1 ( Select the drive using the arrow keys.)
Select the hard disk drive number to be tested and press Enter . The following

message will appear:
T1960CS:
HDC F/W error retry
T1960CT:
HDC F/W error retry : YES (Make your selection using the arrow keys.)
3. This message is used to select the retry operation when the hard disk controller
detects an error. Select 1 or 2 and press Enter . The following message will
appear:
T1960CS:
Data compare error dump (1:no,2:yes) ?
T1960CT:
Data compare error dump : NO (Make your selection using the arrow keys.)
T1960CS/T1960CT
(1:yes,2:no) ?
