    1 Before Using the Machine Preface Thank you for selecting the ApeosPort-IV 5070/4070/3070, DocuCentre-IV 5070/4070 (hereafter referred to as "the machine"). This guide describes how to operate the machine and the precautions you should follow during operation. To get the most out of the machine and to use it effectively, be sure to read this guide before use.

    To avoid the risk of electric shock and a fire accident, switch off and unplug the product promptly in the following conditions, then contact your local Fuji Xerox representative. The product emits smoke or its surface is unusually hot.
  • Page 25 Safety Notes Keep electrical and mechanical safety interlocks active. Keep the safety interlocks away from magnetic materials. Magnetic materials may accidentally activate the product and cause injuries or electric shock. A ground fault interrupter is embedded in this product. If current leakage occurs, the ground fault interrupter automatically cuts off power circuit to prevent electric shock and a fire accident.
  • Page 26 Do not apply excessive force to hold thick document on the document glass. It may break the glass and cause injuries. To move this product to another location, contact your local Fuji Xerox representative. Ventilate well during extended operation or mass copying. It may affect the office air environment due to odor such as ozone in a poorly ventilated room.

    It may catch fire by electric sparks inside the vacuum cleaner and cause explosion. If you spill a large volume of toner, contact your local Fuji Xerox representative. Never throw a toner cartridge into an open flame. Remaining toner in the cartridge may catch fire and cause burn injuries or explosion.

    1 Before Using the Machine Environment For environmental protection and efficient use of resources, Fuji Xerox reuses returned toner cartridges and drum cartridges to make recycle parts, recycle materials or energy recovery. Switching off the main power under such circumstances may damage the hard disk and the memory or cause a machine malfunction.

    Ground Fault Interrupter Ground Fault Interrupter The machine is provided with a ground fault interrupter. In the event of a current leakage, the circuit breaker will automatically cut off the power circuit to prevent any leakage or fire from occurring. Check that the ground fault interrupter works properly at least once a month.

    Energy Saver Mode Energy Saver Mode The machine is equipped with an Energy Saver mode that saves electricity by reducing the power consumption when no copy or print data is received for a specified time. The Energy Saver feature has two modes: Low Power mode and Sleep mode. The machine enters Low Power mode after the preset time has elapsed if the machine is left unused for a fixed period of time.

NAT/NAPT NAT (Network Address Translation) converts private IP addresses to global IP addresses. NAPT (Network Address Port Translation) also converts IP addresses to global addresses.
