4.7 Configuring DynDNS

The WS 2000 Wireless Switch provides support for using the DynDNS service. Dynamic DNS is a feature
offered by www.dyndns.com which allows the mapping of domain names to dynamically assigned IP
addresses. When the dynamically assigned IP address of a client changes that new IP address is sent to the
DynDNS servers and traffic for the specified domain(s) is routed to the new IP address.
To view or change the DynDNS settings, select
left menu.

4.7.1 Enabling and Configuring DynDNS

1. Click
Enable
check-box to activate DynDNS configuration. Enabling Dyn DNS will allow domain name
information to be updated when the IP address associated with that domain changes. In order for
changes to go through, a username, password, and hostname must be specified in the fields below.

button to save changes.

4.7.2 Updating DynDNS

Click the
Update DynDNS
service. After you have clicked the
open a dialogue which displays the hostname, IP address and any messages received during the update from
the DynDNS servers.
