24.2.2 ISP Parameters

The ZyWALL offers Ethernet, PPTP and PPPoE choices for encapsulation. The screen
varies depending on what encapsulation type you use. Refer to information provided by your
ISP to know what to enter in each field. Leave a field blank if you don't have that information.
24.2.2.1 Ethernet
For ISPs (such as Telstra) that send UDP heartbeat packets to verify that the customer is still
online, please create a WAN-to-WAN/ZyWALL firewall rule for those packets. Contact your
ISP to find the correct port number.
Choose Ethernet when the WAN port is used as a regular Ethernet.

This shows the port's IP address.
This shows the port's subnet mask.
If you are using Ethernet encapsulation and the WAN port is configured to get the
IP address automatically from the ISP, click Renew to release the WAN port's
dynamically assigned IP address and get the IP address afresh.
