Configuring a Windows XP or Windows Server 2003 computer
Follow the procedure below to configure a Windows XP or Windows Server 2003 computer to use
TCP/IP.

On the [Start] menu, point to [Control Panel], and then click [Network Connections].

Click [Local Area Connection]. On the [File] menu, click [Properties].

Check [Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)] is selected in the [This connection uses the following items:] box
on the [General] tab.
Note
If the check box for TCP/IP is not selected, select it.
If TCP/IP is not installed, click [Install] on the [General] tab and install it. For more information
about installing TCP/IP, see Windows XP or Windows Server 2003 Help.

Configure TCP/IP with an appropriate IP address, subnet mask, and other settings.
Check with the network administrator that the settings are correct.
