1-2. Hybrid system
Sudden acceleration
When the accelerator pedal is pressed hard, power is supplied to the electric motor from the drive
battery in addition to the gasoline engine, increasing the output of the electric motor and accelerating
powerfully.
During deceleration/braking (regenerative braking)
The wheels move the electric motor as a generator, charging the drive battery.
Vehicle proximity notification device
When the vehicle is running with the gasoline engine stopped, it emits a sound that corresponds to the
vehicle speed in order to notify people nearby that a vehicle is approaching. The sound is muted when the
vehicle speed exceeds approximately 25km/h. You can also mute the sound by operating the switch.
To mute the sound, press the switch while the
READY indicator is lit.
The indicator on the switch lights up.
Press the switch again to turn it on.
Each time the hybrid system is started,
the vehicle approaching alarm system
is turned on.

deceleration force. •When you take your foot off the accelerator pedal while driving with the
shift lever in D or S. •When you step on the brake pedal while driving with the shift lever in D or S.
ÿ About the EV indicator
