Intelligent Parking Assist 2ÿ
About Intelligent Parking Assist 2
ÿ
Overview of
Functions This system assists in reversing parking by combining and displaying a guide line
that serves as a reference for reversing operations on the
image behind the vehicle. In assist mode, the steering wheel is automatically operated to
assist the vehicle in reversing parking near the target parking position confirmed on the screen
or exiting from parallel parking. (Shift lever operation and forward/backward speed adjustment
are not
performed automatically.) • Intelligent Parking Assist 2 is not an automatic parking device.
Auxiliary equipment for exiting from reverse parking or parallel parking. • Because
the system assists the steering wheel operation toward the vicinity of the set target parking
position, it may not be possible to reach the set target parking position depending on the
road surface when parking, the condition of the vehicle, the distance to the target parking position, etc.
ÿ
Intelligent Clearance Sonar
When Intelligent Parking Assist 2 is active, emergency braking will be
applied when the system detects an obstacle that could cause a collision,
regardless of whether Intelligent Clearance Sonar is ON or OFF. (ÿ P.305)
caveat
• When backing up or moving forward, be sure to directly confirm the safety of the area behind, in front of, and
around the vehicle, and then slowly back up or move forward while stepping on the brake pedal to adjust
the vehicle speed.
•If you are likely to hit a nearby vehicle, obstacle, or person, step on the brake pedal to stop the
vehicle, and press the IPA switch (ÿ P. 306) to deactivate the system. •Due to the characteristics
of the camera lens, the positions and distances of people and obstacles that appear on the screen
may differ from their actual positions. (ÿ P.352, 353)
•Intelligent Parking Assist 2 does not stop the system.
Depress the brake pedal to stop the vehicle at the target parking position and the turning position.
•Low obstacles (curbs, blocks, etc.) may not be detected, so directly check the safety of your
surroundings, and if there is a risk of contact, depress the brake pedal and stop.
ÿ: Equipment may or may not be available depending on the grade and options.
