knowledge
ÿ Sensing range of the sensor
The sensing range of Intelligent Clearance Sonar is different from the sensing range of
Clearance Sonar (ÿ P. 282). Therefore,
Intelligent Clearance Sonar may not start operating even if the Clearance Sonar informs
you that you are approaching an obstacle.
ÿ When the system is activated
If the system stops the vehicle, Intelligent Clearance Sonar will stop and the ICS OFF
indicator light will illuminate.
ÿ About system recovery
If Intelligent Clearance Sonar has stopped due to system activation and you want to
restore Intelligent Clearance Sonar, turn Intelligent Clearance Sonar on again to cancel
the stop (ÿ P. 294), or turn off the power switch . and then set it to ON mode again. Also,
when the vehicle is driven with no obstacles in the direction of travel, or when
the direction of travel of the vehicle is reversed (switched from forward to backward or
vice versa), the system automatically returns. .
ÿ Obstacles not detected by sensors
Obstacles such as the following may not be detected by the sensor.
Objects that do not easily reflect sound waves, such as people, cotton, and snow
(In particular, people may not be able to perceive it depending on the type of clothing.)
•Things that are not perpendicular to the ground, not perpendicular to the direction of travel of the
vehicle, are uneven, or wavy.
•Short
-Thin objects such as wires, fences, ropes, and posts for signs
- Very close to the bumper
ÿ Clearance sonar buzzer
Regardless of whether the clearance sonar is ON or OFF (ÿ P. 278), if the Intelligent
Clearance Sonar is not stopped (ÿ P. 294), the front sensor or the rear sensor will detect
an obstacle and the brake will be controlled. When activated, the clearance sonar buzzer
will also sound to inform you of the approximate distance to the obstacle.
