NIBP: Manual Mode
To cancel the auto mode, choose manual; determinations are no longer
automatically started. Any determination in progress is completed.
To start an NIBP determination between scheduled auto determination times,
push the NIBP Go/Stop hardkey. The cycle time counter is not reset due to
the completion of a manual determination.
To stop an auto determination that is in progress, push the NIBP Go/Stop
hardkey. The cuff will deflate.
If a patient alarm occurs during the first auto determination, another auto
determination will start in order to verify the alarm.
If an NIBP NO DETERMINATION alarm occurs, a repeat determination will
start in order to verify the alarm. A subsequent auto mode determination is
attempted at the next scheduled interval, however, a repeat determination
to verify this alarm will not again be attempted until a determination results
in valid values. Pushing the NIBP Go/Stop hardkey just prior to or during a
repeat determination to verify an alarm, cancels that determination.
You can start a single NIBP determination at any time by pushing the NIBP Go/
Stop hardkey.
NOTE: Because the NIBP Go/Stop hardkey is an on-off switch, you can cancel
a manual, auto, custom, or stat NIBP determination in progress at any
time by pushing this key.
Stat mode starts 5 minutes of continuous NIBP determinations. Upon initiation of
stat mode, the NIBP and stat labels in the vital signs area blinks yellow. Once
either the systolic or MAP derived vital sign is updated with a new value
(including early systolic), all three vital signs turn yellow and blink. These vital
signs remain yellow and blinking until stat mode is terminated.
You can take multiple NIBP readings at any time by push-and-holding the NIBP
Auto hardkey until you hear a confirmation tone. Stat mode takes precedence
over all other NIBP modes. If you push-and-hold the NIBP Auto hardkey when a
manual determination is not in progress, a 5-minute series of determinations
