Battery Alarm

Loss of Power Shutdown

2042480-001 C
Battery: Battery Alarm
The battery icon is always shown when operating from battery power
regardless of the Always display battery icons? menu setting. You can set the
icon to be continuously displayed (even when running on AC power) by choosing
yes in the Always display battery icon? option in the Other system settings
menu. An up arrow (↑) charge indicator appears next to the battery icon if a
battery is being charged. If the battery is being discharged to power the Monitor,
a down arrow (↓) charge indicator appears next to it.
When the monitor is running on AC power, if the monitor is not installed with the
battery, or there is a defective battery pack or fuse, or depleted battery and the
battery is unable to be recharged, the battery icon appears with the outline of
the icon in red. When this occurs, you cannot access battery power until the
battery has been recharged or replaced or the fuse has been replaced. No other
alarms occur, and this event is not entered into the System Event History
window.
As the battery pack discharges or charges, increments of the charge level
change on the battery icon, showing approximate charge status as a
percentage.

<15% charged, BATTERY LOW alarm sounds; shutdown imminent
When generated, the BATTERY LOW alarm appears blinking in the alarm
message field and the procedural alarm tone is heard. Once the alarm is
acknowledged by selecting the BATTERY LOW alarm in the SelectBox, the
Monitor re-arms for the detection of this condition and is automatically reissued
every 10 minutes until the Monitor is plugged into AC power.
NOTE: A BATTERY LOW alarm will not provide a remote alarm signal.
In the event that the Monitor automatically shuts down due to inadequate AC
power and discharged battery, a loud constant tone sounds to alert you that the
unit is no longer operating. The alarm sounds for approximately 5 minutes. The
Monitor saves all status and trend information, as well as current configuration
data before shutdown.
