You can use this option to discharge a patient at any time during monitoring.
Discharging a patient automatically saves the patient data in patient trends as
previous patient.
This option lets you choose between customized tables based upon a particular
patient type. Each table should be configured for a particular patient type (adult,
neonate, etc.). There are three patient types: neonate (under 29 days old),
pediatric (between 29 days and 18 years old), and adult (over 18 years old).
When a new table is chosen, the Monitor immediately reconfigures itself
accordingly. If the menu window is closed, the name of the chosen default table
appears in the upper left corner of the screen. When the menu window is open, it
is not viewable. As part of this process, all parameters are turned off-line and
auto-switched on as patient connections are made. Patient data continues to be
trended for the current patient and does not erase the current patient's name if
it had been previously entered.
This option gives you access to a popup window containing the alphabet,
numbers 0 to 9, and punctuation. You can enter up to 20 characters of a
patient's name within the physical limit of the available space. The patient's
name will appear in the patient information field (upper right corner of the
screen) and on strip recordings until a new patient is admitted.
NOTE: Entering the patient's name is not necessary for admission.
