Recorder: Description
Using the recorder/printer, you can obtain thermal-paper strip recordings from
the Dash 2500 Patient Monitor. The recorder/printer prints real-time data (e.g.,
waveforms) and non-real-time (static) data (e.g., trends). Real-time waveforms
can be printed in three modes: continuous, timed, and alarm.
Patient identification information (name, patient type, unit number, and bed
number), date, time, monitor model number, software revision, and GE company
name are printed at the beginning of each strip. Three-second time intervals are
marked on all real-time printouts. These time markers appear as a dash at the
top and bottom of the recorder strip. Vital signs, information about parameter
status, and alarm status information are printed on the recorder strip. When
printing graphical trends, up to two graphs can be printed simultaneously. The
times that appear on the screen in the trend data area are also printed along the
top of the strip from left to right, oldest to newest. The date of the earliest trend
data is printed to the left of the oldest time.
A delayed memory option, available in the password-protected configuration
menu, allows you to print waveforms and vital signs that appeared on the
screen 2 to 12 seconds in the past. Recorded waveforms for ECG are filtered,
based on their current settings. ECG filter settings are printed next to the
waveform label on the recorder strip.
The Print hardkey lets you start a real-time trace recording (continuous or
timed), as well as stop all recordings in progress. Whenever any type of
recording is in progress (real-time or static), a quick-push of the Print hardkey
stops that recording. The Print hardkey is available as long as a waveform
parameter is available. However, The Print hardkey is available to start a trace
recording as long as a waveform parameter is available. If a recording is in
progress and all waveform parameters fail or become unavailable, that
recording will complete as expected. However, the Print hardkey will not be
available to start another trace recording until a waveform parameter again
becomes available. If the record key printout option is set to at CS, quick-
pushing the Print hardkey starts a recording at the central station.
NOTE: You can use the Print hardkey to print to a central station if the Dash
2500 Patient Monitor does not contain the optional recorder/printer, the
printer becomes disabled, or if configured to do so.
To print in continuous mode, push-and-hold the Print hardkey. You can control
the length of the strip by push-and-holding the hardkey to start printing and
pushing again to stop printing. The chart speed is fixed at 25.0 mm/s. If patient
alarms occur during printing, they are annotated on the strip. Patient
identification is printed at the beginning of the strip. Annotation of vital signs and
