Printing in Timed Mode

Alarm Mode Printing

Printing Priorities

7-4
Recorder: Description
alarm status information is printed at the beginning and then repeated every 10
seconds. In terms of printing priority, a request for a continuous mode strip
interrupts any other printings in progress. An alarm strip in progress continues
when a continuous strip is requested, and the new recording mode is annotated
on the strip.
To print in the timed mode, you can quick-push the Print hardkey (if configured
to do so) or select the start timed recording option in the Setup recorder menu.
The length of the strip can range from 8 to 30 seconds and three chart speeds
are available.
NOTE: Timed mode does not initiate a recording at a central station.
When the Print on Alarm? option is set to yes, auto mode printing is on and a
strip prints automatically when a warning or crisis patient alarm occurs. Alarm
mode overrides all other modes of printing except continuous. The length of the
strip depends on the type of alarm. When a warning alarm occurs, the recorder
will print according to the preset Length of strip option in the config settings
menu under setup continuous option. When a crisis alarm occurs, the recorder
will continue to print a strip until the greatest amount of time, determined by the
following, expires: a) all crisis alarm conditions in progress have been removed in
addition to the amount of time preset in the Delayed memory option in the
config settings menu under the delayed memory setup timed option has
expired or b) until the preset Length of strip option is printed.
When printing, patient alarm messages are annotated as they occur. Patient
identification is printed at the start of the strip and annotation of vital signs and
alarm status information will be repeated every 10 seconds. The speed is fixed
at 25.0 mm/s and has the same delayed memory setting as continuous strip
mode.
NOTES
Alarms set to message priority will not be annotated on recorder strips.
System alarms do not cause an alarm print to automatically start.
The recorder/printer prints continuous, alarm, timed, and static printouts (e.g.,
trends, freeze, etc.) in order of priority. Continuous mode takes priority over all
other printing. The alarm mode is next in priority and can override timed and
static printouts. Timed mode and static printouts are equal in printing priority.
