starts. If you push-and-hold the NIBP Auto hardkey when a manual
determination is in progress, that determination becomes the first in the series. If
you push the NIBP Go/Stop hardkey during a series of stat determinations, you
will cancel the determination in progress and the rest of the series. At the end of
stat mode, the Monitor reverts to the NIBP mode it was in prior to the start of stat
mode.
The series begins with cuff inflation to a pressure above previous systolic value
or, if no previous systolic is stored, to the configured initial target inflation
pressure. The initial target pressure selection for neonates has a maximum
pressure of 140 mmHg. Artifact rejection is relaxed in stat mode for adult/
pediatric patients to allow for accelerated determinations. During stat
determinations, systolic, diastolic, mean, and pulse rate values will not be
checked against their limits. An "early" systolic appears in the NIBP field when
possible. When mean or MAP, pulse, and diastolic pressure values are
determined, the Dash 2500 Patient Monitor sounds a short tone and the updated
values appear. Another determination begins once the pressure falls below 5
mmHg for 8 seconds for neonates or below 15 mmHg for 4 seconds for adults,
unless the 5-minute period has ended, or you have pushed the NIBP Go/Stop
hardkey.
NOTE: During stat mode, all NIBP limit alarms are suppressed both during and
at the end of the 5 minutes of determinations.
Calibration of the parameter should be checked every 12 months or when there
is doubt about the validity of the noninvasive blood pressure readings.
Calibration should be performed by a qualified service person.
A leak test of the parameter should be performed every 12 months or when
there is doubt about the validity of the pressure readings.
CAUTION
Refer calibration and leak testing to qualified service
personnel. Full calibration details are available in the Dash
2500 Patient Monitor Service Manual (PN 2042481-001),
available from GE Medical Systems Information Technologies.
The cuff must be thoroughly cleaned with the specified detergent before
reuse. The additional use of household bleach as described below provides
at least intermediate-level disinfection.
Apply cuff hose plugs before cleaning.
