5. INSPECT OIL CLEARANCE OF COUNTER FIFTH GEAR
Using a dial indicator, measure the oil clearance between
the gear and counter gear shaft with the needle roller
bearing installed.

6. INSPECT OIL CLEARANCE OF REVERSE IDLER GEAR
Using a dial indicator, measure the oil clearance between
the gear and reverse idle gear shaft.

7. INSPECT SYNCHRONIZER RINGS

8. INSPECT SHIFT FORKS AND HUB SLEEVES
Using a feeler gauge, measure the clearance between the
hub sleeve and shift fork.

9. INSPECT OIL PUMP

Shaft stroke:
0.009 — 0.055 mm
(0.0004 - 0.0022 in.)
0.06 mm (0.0024 in.)
0.055 - 0.092 mm
(0.0022 - 0.0036 in.)

Turn the ring and push it in to check the braking
action.
Measure the clearance between the synchronizer ring
back and the gear spline end.
5th and extra low gears

Check that the pump drive shaft slides smoothly in
the axial direction.
