INSPECTION OF EBCV
1. CHECK FOR SHORT CIRCUIT
Using an ohmmeter, check that there is no continuity be-
tween the positive (+) terminal and the EBCV body.
If there is continuity, replace the EBCV.
2. CHECK FOR OPEN CIRCUIT
Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between the
positive (+) terminal and the other terminal as shown.
Specified resistance:
If the resistance is not within specification.
Replace the EBCV.
INSPECTION OF VACUUM SWITCH (A)
(a) Using an ohmmeter, check for continuity between
the switch terminal and switch body.

(b) Start the engine and warm up the engine to normal
operating temperature.
(c) Using an ohmmeter, check that there is no continuity
between the switch terminal and the body.
INSPECTION OF VACUUM SWITCH (B)
(a) Using an ohmmeter, check that there is no continuity
between the switch terminal and switch body.
