IGNITION SYSTEM - Integrated Ignition Assembly (HA)

(a) Install the rotor.
(b) Place a new gasket and the cap in position.
(c) Install the condenser and three screws.
NOTE: Lightly coat the O-ring with engine oil.
SET NO. 1 CYLINDER TO TDC/COMPRESSION
Set to TDC/compression in the following manner.
(a) Remove the No. 1 spark plug.
(b) Place your finger over the hole of the No. 1 spark
plug and roíate the crankshaft clockwise to TDC. If
you feel pressure on your finger, this is TDC/com-
pression of the No. 1 cylinder. If not, repeat the pro-
cess.
(c) Instad the No. 1 spark plug.
INSTALL HA
(a) Coat the spirai gear and governor shaft tip with
engine oil.
(b) Align the protrusion on the housing with the pin of
the spirai gear drill mark side.
(c) Insert the HA, aligning the center of the flange with
that of the bolt hole on the cylinder head.
(d) Lightly tighten the hold-down bolt.
INSTALL HIGH-TENSION CORDS
Firing order: 1 - 3 - 4 — 2
CONNECT HOSES TO VACUUM ADVANCER
CONNECT HA WIRE CONNECTOR
CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE TERMINAL OF
BATTERY
START ENGINE
CONNECT ENGINE TACHOMETER
Remove the rubber cap and connect the test probé of a
tester to the service connecter of the HA.
CAUTION:
(1) NEVER allow the ignition coil termináis to touch
ground as it could result in damage to the igniter
and/or ignition coil.
(2) It is recommended that you consult with the
manufacturer before using a tachometer as some
are not compatible with this system.
