3. KEYBOARD Test
CRT Displays or
Step Test Procedures Printer Print Outs
1 Type * Refer to Figure 9-22.| This is then followed by a
series of squares (HB) each
representing a key on the
keyboard.
2 Press all keys. * Refer to Figure 9-23.| Press each key in turn and
watch the display. While the
key is held down, the block
representing that key should
change to display the character
on the key in reverse video
(e.g. ). When the key is
released, the character should
be displayed normally
(e.g. [A\| ).
If the display does not look
like this, press n and [4]] .
Check the keyboard cord. If
the cord connection is loose,
plug the cord in firmly and
run the keyboard test again.
If the display is still not
correct, the keyboard should
be serviced.
If the display is correct,
press y and to continue
the diagnostic test.
