3. INSPECT FR WIPER DEICER SWITCH (W/ DEICER)
(a) check that the wiper deicer switch illuminates.
Standard:
Measurement Condition
Battery positive (+) " 1
Battery negative (–) " 4
If the result is not as specified, replace the switch or bulb.

Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to ter-
minal 6 and the negative (–) lead to terminal 1.
Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to ter-
minal 5 through a 1.4 W test bulb.
Push the rear window defogger switch ON, check
that the switch and the test bulb illuminate for 12 –
18 minutes, and then they go off.
Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to ter-
minal 6 and the negative (–) lead to terminal 3.
Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to ter-
minal 1 through a 1.4 W test bulb.
Push the wiper deicer switch ON, check that the
switch and the test bulb illuminate for 12 – 18 min-
utes, and then they go off.
