Installing SFPs

To install an SFP:

Note: The cable distance may vary depending on the quality of fiber
optic cable used.
Caution: SFPs are keyed to prevent incorrect insertion. If an SFP resists
pressure, do not force it; turn it over, and reinsert it.
Remove the SFP from its protective packaging.
Verify that the SFP is the correct model for your network configuration. See
Table 156 on page 412
Grasp the SFP between your thumb and forefinger.
Insert the SFP into the SFP slot on the module.
