To power off a T640 router:
On the external management device connected to the Routing Engine, issue the

request system halt
operational mode command. The command shuts down both
Routing Engines cleanly, so their state information is preserved. (If the router contains
only one Routing Engine, issue the
user@host> request system halt both-routing-engines

Wait until a message appears on the console confirming that the operating system
